Hiya,
I was just wondering if any of you guys can recommend a cheapish, niceish hotel to stay in in London, ideally near Oxford Circus/Tottenham Court Road/Leicester Sq area (st Giles is fully booked, I've already checked)

I always stay at The Morgan, in Gower St. It's a nice B&B. Next door to that is The Gresham, another little B&B that Sammy and Trish have stayed at. They're in the street running parallel to Tottenham Court Rd and only a few minutes walk to the Dominion.

I always stay in hostels so I can't really recommend any hotels but I just wanted to say that the Gresham Hotel is rubbish. Me and my sister stayed there last weekend. It's not really that clean (some of the rooms are disgustingly filthy), a lot of the rooms have broken showers as well. The guys on the desk weren't exactly friendly either.

Well, I can definitely recommend The Morgan. Family run and just recently given a complete makeover. I'm staying there myself next week. I had heard mixed reviews on the Gresham but I think it is a bit cheaper than The Morgan. Kathy

Unfortunately, you're looking at the Led Zeppelin reunion weekend, so the whole of London is probably booked or expensive. I stayed at the Thistle Trafalgar Square for 108 pounds a night + tax. A bit high, but the TKTS booth had cheaper options further away. They use Londontown.com and get half-price or more off rooms.

Thanks for your recommendations! I tried the Morgan but they were fully booked (will remember that one next time though!) but got in one not far from Oxford st, so can literally shop and then drop!
