Kathy, very nicely put. I agree it's not selfish cesca, he was a part of your life that's gone now and you loved him. I also think that when you have a child, you think about all the things your child will miss, things that you had with the person who has died. Therefore you feel an even greater loss on their behalf. You know, I still wonder what my mum would've thought about things the girl's are doing and that makes me sad sometimes.

The funeral went as nicely as a funeral can. My uncle said a few words about my grandad that had us all laughing. And I think although it's so sad that he has gone, I'm only being selfish wanting him to be here. As long as he is happy where is, then I'm happy too. I think it's fair enough to feel selfish and want him to still be around. That's very natural. I feel the same way about my Dad, who is very ill and in a Nursing Home. He has little life and memory but he still remembers me and is always thrilled to see me. He had a bad turn a few months ago and, whilst it would be a blessing for him to die, I was really upset and didn't want him to. We can tell ourselves that it's in their best interests but, I don't think it's bad to be honest about how you really feel. You love him so you go right ahead and miss him and want him to be around. I don't think that's selfish at all, I think it's beautiful and a testament to the wonderful man he was and the influence and impact he had on your life. Hugs Kathy Thank you Kathy, you are one in a million xx

Hey Cesca, sorry for the delay. I'm so so sorry to hear of your loss and my thoughts are with you and your family. At least you can look back on the good memories, and know he's safe and happy with your nan, and that he's seen you and Adam happy and got introduced to Molly - I'm sure she brightened up his day! You're not at all selfish for wanting him with you, but try to take comfort in the fact he's watching over you now. Hugs
