ive been to NY a couple of times now, and prefered the 2nd time, not only because i knew where everything was and so it was like visiting an old friend but also because i went with some other daft bats 1 whom also had been to the big apple before and the 2nd who was an apple virgin so going with friends and meeting friends there enhanced my 2nd stay and made it more memorable than the first!!

I've been to the big apple a few years ago with my family. I liked the city very much but the only 'bad' thing about our trip was the weather..it was soooo hot (July).
Would love to go back when I get the chance!

I went to New York a few years ago for two weeks over Christmas and New Year. It was fantastic. There's so much to do in various price ranges. Some days I spent heaps going to places and other days were free. I loved just walking around looking at the buildings and people.
The weather was pretty amazing, I could walk around Central Park on New Years Day and stand in the sun in my shirtsleeves. Another day it snowed and I had to be completely rugged up. I went to the theatre a few times and was standing in a half price ticket queue when the Asian Tsunami information started to come through. We watched in horror as the casualty rate climbed from a few hundred to thousands.
I'm going back again at the end of this year and am really looking forward to it.

I've been to NYC about 30 times now, and there's always something different to do. My favorite time to go is in the spring or fall. Summer there can be quite horrible with the heat. All of those building absorb the heat, and no green to cool things off. Central Park can be cooler, but I don't like going in the summer.
Avoid going around the Christmas season. Things get ridiculously expensive. Also, if you can avoid staying right in the theatre district, it will be cheaper.
Put some research into it before you go, and I'm sure that you'll have a wonderful time!
