Thanks debbie And I was just told something very distressing. I dunno if it's true or not...I'm really hoping it's not... "The goverment are trying to making photography in public places a crime, in an attempt to shop peados and the pap!!
If the bill is passed then you will have to apply for a special lience to take photographs in public, no matter who you are and what your taking pictures of!!"My friend apparently got sent this as a Myspace bulletin. I am aware of Myspace hoaxes and the likes, and I'm currently trying to get into the government website to see if there is actually any mention of this anywhere...but...argh!! If it's true then I honestly don't know what I'll do

Wouldn't surprise me, I have to sign various forms everytime the girl's school want to use any photo's of them. Also there are no photo's allowed if any children perform in any public places, just in case! The girl's are not allowed into church without tights as part of the school uniform as they have to sit on the floor (use imagination here). It's all so sad isn't it!

It's crazy isn't it?! I remember once doing PE in my knickers and vest as I had forgotten my kit (I was only 5!), but you wouldn't be able to do that these days and I think it's sad.

I can't quite believe the government would be bonkers enough to try and pass a bill like that! It really would be a case of the "nanny state" gone mad!!

The girl's are not allowed into church without tights as part of the school uniform as they have to sit on the floor (use imagination here). It's all so sad isn't it! Yeah I can relate to that. I did all of the live photography for a local school play last year and not only had to use the school camera, but also wasn't allowed to edit any of the shots. And yet they kind of contradicted themselves by giving me a disc of all the shots afterwards, which're now on my computer Plus, the photos didn't turn out all that good because I wasn't used to the camera The changes in the UK scare me so much. Like, at the same school the woman who deals with the medical room isn't allowed to do anything anymore. Last year I had to help her clear out all of the cupboards because a certain type of bandage that has been used for years suddenly became "unsafe" I volunteered at the school for 6 months...hence my always being there and having so many school stories haha... Oh, and if you'd like to be lovely and stuff...and if you oppose to this ridiculous idea, then please sign this petitions.pm.gov.uk/Photography/ That's if you're in the UK...

Haha, yeah that's why I enjoy taking them. It's a way to express myself, and I find that very difficult on occasions. There's usually a hidden meaning in most of my shots; although I tend to get most of it into my portraiture. I'll let you know on any changes on the print front. You're very kind Fab please do!!!

I had a phone call once to say 'Emma has cut herself with scissors - do we have your permission to put a plaster on'. Apparently putting on a plaster without permission could be taken as assault!!!!! So they then ring around trying to find you whilst your child bleeds to death. How nice of you to volunteer shaz! Glad you survived! *rushes off to sign petition*

I know, it's insane. The plaster thing is a mixture of "assault" and also fear that the child may be allergic to the plaster...if that happens they school could be in a lot of trouble. It's insane how much it's changed in the last few years though. I mean, I'm not that long out of primary school if you think about it, but they were allowed to give you plasters then! It's out of control now And yeah, the volunteering was fun, although it was mainly to help with my confidence I did a mixture of office work (I learnt how to use a photocopier haha!) and work with the children in class and one to one. Fell in love with some of the kids...a couple in particular; one was a little girl with cerebral palsy who was a complete sweetie. She always came to me if she had a problem, which was adorable. Also, a boy who was considered to have behavioural problems and wasn't allowed in a class with other children, so he had to work in the library. Did lots of work with him and formed such a wonderful bond. I do miss going to the school to be honest but hey...

Phone calls to say your child has broken it's neck and can they administer a plaster?!!!
