Despite many trips to Europe, this will be my first time in Reims...and I plan to spend it with my nose in glasses full of bubbles!

LOL! Definitely the best thing to do in Reims - the restaurants coming in a close second!

Hey, if you know some good restaurants, I always love suggestions! Our visits to Reims have normally been a half way stop between the UK and Switzerland so we have tended to stick in one area near to our hotel. We stay at the Holiday Inn Garden Court in Rue Buirette. If you walk a couple of streets up into the city there is a wide, pedestrian street with lots of good restaurants (most with outside eating areas). I think the street is Rue du Talleyrand? Anyway you can't miss it, it is a great place to wander up and down, look in the shop windows, ride the carousel, read the menu's and look at people's plates as you go. I can't remember the restuarant names we have visited but we have never been disappointed and have enjoyed every meal - but then again it is France! Here is a photo of the street which has a Google earth link: www.panoramio.com/photo/491232

I have to say when I read all your posts, I am quite humbled about how under travelled I am.
I love reading about all the places you've been so keep the travel stories comling.

well i just (few moments ago) got back from our 3-day long holiday in Latvia-especially Riga!
That was awesome although i've been lots and lots of times in Riga, but every time it has been one day long holiday.
Well Riga is 3hours drive from Tartu(the place i live).
Now we rented an appartement in Riga old town section and etc.

Pat I'm under travelled too. We always ended up in like Spain or somewhere, although I will admit I love Barcelona. I just wish I could go to more places. I love hearing other peoples holiday stories, so keep 'em coming.

I'm back from my water-logged week! I visited Monkey World and it was brilliant (but a little busy) - thanks ing. So, especially for Ingy's mum the best of my photo's (sadly I ran out of battery power so only took a few). Whilst we there they were introducing a reluctant new baby Orangutan: I'm not surprised it didn't want to come out with all those camera's and TV crews! Also, a chimp after my own heart - I want to be alone!: I'm SO glad you had a great time at Monkey World Deb! .. and that you were there the day of the release of a new monkey baby had my mum REALLY jealous! I believe that the lady with the back to your camera (with the orange top) is Alison Cronin..wife of the late Jim Cronin who founded Monkey World from acres and acres of farmland. Sadly after devoting his life to the worldwide rescue of apes, he died back home in NYC from liver cancer in March this year. His wife now continues his legacy. Such an amazing and brave woman. Did you see my pics on Myspace Deb? We're planning on sponsoring 'Eddy' (the big eared chimp sat in the grass). so CUTE! ing x
