Some sightings from the lovely city I live in, Sittard: 'Rosakapel' (1675) Oldest pub in town called 'de Gats' (1535) Basiliek van Onze Lieve Vrouw van het Heilig Hart (1875 - 1877) Sint Petruskerk (1330, and has the oldest choir benches in The Netherlands) 'Kasteel Limbricht' (13th century - my brother's wedding ceremony will be in this castle) 'Ophovener Molen' (1582 - this is where the wedding party will be) I grew up in Sittard but from 2002 until 2005 I've lived in Maaseik, Belgium. Maaseik is a nice town but somehow it didn't feel like home so I moved back to my roots

*makes note to self that if going on a cycling holiday in the netherlands then to stick to the north*
it truly is beautiful.. there is something about those old buildings that suck you in.. each of them can tell stories time after time..
i love the large houses now. those like the national trust look after or the royal palaces.. so much history.

You'll miss out on loads of beautiful places if you stick to the north.where there's nothing but farmland Sometimes I act like a tourist in this city because it has so many historical features.

Canterbury is a lovely place to visit- and i may go to university there. . I went to look round there when I was applying for unis. It was my 2nd choice in the end - but it's a really lovely, scenic place.
