Can't remember the full name of the show, but it's a Joseph and the Technicoloured Dreamcoat version of "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?"...looking for the new star for the show and all. Anyway, I dunno if I'm the only person who has started watching this series this evening, but I'm really excited about it. I love musical theatre...I can't describe what it does to me but it's amazing. Some amazing talents on the show tonight...was literally left speechless at some of them Sooo...if any of you guys are watching it, talk about it here If not, just ignore me haha!! On a kind of related note, I think there are good and bad points about shows like this. They give "normal" people a chance to get involved, although professional stage actors who probably deserve the roles more get shoved out of the equation. I mean...I sing...I sing all the time and I apparently have a natural flare and a "very" good voice...that's according to a local music teacher I had to sing to a few years ago before I started training myself more. What I think is good about shows like this, is that it gives people like me a chance. I don't have the money to go to stage schools, dance lessons, singing lessons, university, or anything like that...and programs of this manner give us a chance haha! It's always been a dream of mine to be on the West End stage...yeah, I take photos...sing...I'm very creative and always have been...but I've always wanted to work on the stage...I just don't have the confidence. I'm very introverted and hate singing in front of people. My parents and close friends hear me all the time but apart from that I tend to keep quiet about my passion for singing lol...although I do occasionally get random bursts of confidence and just go for it. I just think shows like this are good for people like me.......I'm gonna stop ranting now

I saw it tonight as well, I don't know whether you noticed, but an "established" west End performer was auditioning too (Didn't recognise him personally, but John Barrowman knew him. I think he's currently in Les Mis and has the look of Rufus Sewell, quite hot actually, and his voice was pretty good too)

The established West End performer was from Phantom of the Opera He said that it was always his dream to do Joseph, so this would be a good way of going about it, haha! He was very good

The etablished performer was Lee Mead. I actually saw him in the 'Joseph' tour when Andrew Derbyshire was Joseph! Lee Mead was the Pharoah - so technically he has been in Joseph before - I have the program to prove it. He was a very good Pharoah though, great voice.

I thought the guys going to Joseph school (yuk!) that we saw were OK. Those that were shown on the box either sounded great but didn't look like Joseph (to me) or looked right and didn't sound right. Anyway I will await next weeks show to make any more assumptions! Strangely all my favourite Joseph's have been blond - Jason Donovan, Arvid Larson and Andrew Derbyshire. Out of those Andrew was the only one whose 'Close Every Door' made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! There's a short clip on the front page on here - ignore the duff backing ;D www.andrewderbyshire.co.uk/

I liked the campness, I mean let's face it the whole show is very camp!! I can definitely recall a few how shall we say 'camp' Joseph's like H and Stephen Gately. . Last year I went to see the touring version with Craig Adams and personally felt he was quite a boring 'straight' Joseph - but each to his/her own! ;D

Actually, funny story but my friend got his greatest hits and we were dancing along in my car recently. Did I just say that out loud?!
